Accumulating Spiritual Blessings Through Faith

As we walk in the faith of Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:16), totally relying on God (John 5:19-20), we accumulate many spiritual blessings, such as His kindness, favor, dominion, power, strength (Isaiah 40:29, 1 Samuel 2:4, 2 Samuel 22:33), and access to the daily help we need (Psalm 46:1, Matthew 6:11). We accumulate these spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3) as we walk in the faith of Jesus. These spiritual blessings are profitable to us, giving us an advantage. They add value to our lives, making us useful in advancing the Kingdom of God.

Spiritual Superiority and Humility

Accumulating spiritual blessings as we walk in the faith of Jesus gives us an edge and makes us superior. I do not mean superior in the sense of thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought (Romans 12:3), for we must remain clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). Because Jesus has raised us up together with Him and we are seated in heavenly places with Christ (Ephesians 2:6), we are spiritually superior – more advanced and more excellent in rank and dignity. We are a priority when it comes to spiritual position and rank, making us more advanced and excellent in importance, power, and influence.

Exercising Our Legal Rights

To possess is to have the legal title, ownership, or property of something. As sons of God, it refers to ownership of all the benefits of our spiritual position in Jesus Christ. We also have the legal title of a son of God as rightful heirs (John 1:12, Romans 8:14-17). To possess also means to sit in or on. To sit on or on what? To sit in heavenly places, to be enthroned with Christ (Revelation 3:21).

Accumulating Spiritual Blessings for Kingdom Advantage

As we journey in the faith of Jesus Christ, we accumulate a wealth of spiritual blessings. These blessings empower us to impact the Kingdom of God on Earth, all while upholding qualities like humility and compassion. Our spiritual superiority isn’t rooted in arrogance, but rather in embracing our rightful inheritance as heirs of God. It is our responsibility to purposefully exercise our full rights and benefits as sons of God, taking advantage of every opportunity to advance His kingdom.
