Creative Arts Exercise for The Secret to Access Truth and True Discipleship

Word Mapping

What you’ll need:

• Journal or piece of paper
• Writing utensil (pen, pencil, marker, etc.)
• Colored pencils, pens, or markers (optional)
• Alternative: this can be done on the computer with mindmapping software or apps

Instructions:

1. Choose key words and phrases from the The WORDS OF MINE list . thoughts, reasoning, doctrine, counsel, etc.
2. Start creating your visual map. In the center of your journal page, write down a word or phrase.
3. Brainstorm related concepts. Find other words, scriptures, phrases that are related to this main word. Write the words and phrases you find around the central word.
4. Categorize your concepts. Use different colors or symbols to group related concepts together. For example, you could use blue for words that relate to thoughts, green for words that relate to motive, and red for words that relate to wisdom.
5. Connect your concepts. Draw lines or arrows to show how the different concepts are related to each other.

Here are some additional tips:

• Be creative! There is no right or wrong way to create a visual map.
• Use images or symbols to represent concepts, in addition to words.
• If you get stuck, take a break and come back to your visual map later.

By creating a visual map of words, you can gain a deeper understanding of how they relate to each other.
